Greek fest to showcase Iranian ‘Wheelchair’

Iranian short flick ‘Wheelchair’ has been selected to compete at the fourth edition of the Select Respect Film Festival (SRFF) in Greece.

Directed by Vahid Amani, the short film depicts the challenges of a disabled man who intends to cross the street.

The cast of the film, written by Hamid Alizadeh, includes Sadeq Jafari and Alireza Bahreinizadeh.

The poster of the film was also designed by Alizadeh.

‘Wheelchair’ had its first international presence at the 2020 London Lift-Off Film Festival.

A selection of 46 shorts and medium films, from more than 3000 entries, are picked to compete at the SRFF. The selected works focus on the topics of war, gender equality, disability, etc.

In response to the circumstances caused by coronavirus, the fourth edition of the SRFF will be held online, including screenings and discussions.

The festival aims to raise awareness and stimulate thinking using means of films and discussions.

The 2020 edition of the event is slated for November 24-29.
